Membership Application
Board of Governors
  1. In accordance with all the information in relation to the terms and conditions provided, I wish to apply for the AMERICAN INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP. I agree to abide by all the Articles and House Rules of the Club(Please contact Membership department by email to membership@americanclubhk.com and comply with the election process as stipulated in Article 7 of the Club's Memorandum and Articles of Association. I hereby authorize you to place my name on the Register of Members if I am duly elected. Enclosed is a copy of the Title page of my passport and relevant documents indicating Hong Kong residency.
  2. I understand and agree that if my application is approved in due course, then only I, as the principal Applicant who has been approved as a Member, will be eligible to become a Voting Member (provided the conditions for becoming a Voting Member are fulfilled) for the purposes of the Club's Memorandum and Articles of Association. I further understand and agree that my Spouse, Significant Other or Child who may have access to and use the facilities of the Club as a result of my membership is not eligible to become a Voting Member.
  3. I hereby warrant that I am employed or otherwise have financial capability to settle all payments (including, but not limited to any entrance fee and monthly subscription fees) in relation to my application and membership with the Club in the event that my application is approved. Any main cardholder applicant who is not employed is required to prove their financial means by enclosing a Letter of Support from my spouse who is currently employed; or bank reference; or proof of personal equity.
  4. I hereby declare that I have not committed any felony or crime resulting any criminal conviction or any criminal record being held in my name.
  5. I also warrant that the information provided is true and correct in every respect and by misrepresentation of facts may result in my application not being approved or if approved, suspended or terminated as the Board of Governors deems fit.
  6. I further confirm my agreement to supply the Club with data in connection with the application for Membership herewith and thereafter which I understand is necessary for consideration of my application and, if successful, potential membership with the Club. I consent that information provided to the Club may be used for the above purposes by the Club's Management, Club's Membership Committee and Board of Governors.
  7. I understand that by submitting this application, there is no guarantee that my application will be approved and a membership will be made available to me. Any information/document provided to me prior to my application being approved shall be for information only. If my application is approved in due course, I understand that the entrance terms and conditions (including entrance fee) will be governed by those prevailing at the time my application is approved.
  8. In the event that my application for membership is approved, I undertake that I will not grant any membership rights to my family's child care provider/domestic helper for any purposes.
Membership Election Process
1. You will complete the process of becoming a Member once:
  • Application is proposed and seconded by two active Voting Members of 12 months standing.
  • You have attended a series of interviews and meetings with the Board of Governors, Committee Members and Club Management.
  • Confirmation of your ‘Autopay’ for monthly bill settlement has been received by the Club.
2. Your name, address and nationality, as well as the name of the proposer and seconder, shall be posted on the Club's bulletin boards for at least one month as required by the Club's constitution.
